Watch: Vinicius Jr accompanied by a cat during his press conference

Brazilian striker Vinicius Jr. was joined by an unlikely guest during his press conference on Wednesday. While the press interaction was going on, a cat climbed onto the table where Vinicius was sitting and sat on top of it.

The Brazilian star was very amused by the cat’s presence and even laughed when the cat was comfortably seated on the table. Finally it was taken off the table and put on the floor.

Vinicius arrived in Qatar not knowing if he would get a chance to start for Brazil, but heading into Friday’s quarter-final against Croatia, no one doubts his place in the line-up or his importance to the team.

He said that Ancelotti was one of the people who guided him ahead of the biggest football tournament.

“I talked to Ancelotti and he gave me a lot of advice to help me become a starter for Brazil. He gave me a lot of confidence,” 22-year-old Vinícius Júnior said on Wednesday. He’s like a father to me.”

“He is not only good at the technical aspects of the game, but also at how he interacts with his players,” said Vinícius Júnior. “I’m improving a lot and Ancelotti helped me with that. He and (Brazil coach) Tite are very similar and they talk a lot.”

Vinícius, who has a goal and two assists in the three World Cup games, will face clubmate Luka Modric at the Education City Stadium on Friday in the meeting between Brazil and Croatia.
