Watch Giro d’Italia live stream 2023
Geraint Thomas turned 37 on Thursday. On Sunday he could be crowned winner of the Giro d’Italia for the first time in his career. It would be a signature moment, the culmination of years of hard grafting through adversity and adversity, but Primoz Roglic is lurking, and before the pack reaches Rome, they’ll have to navigate two of Dante’s circles of hell.
Giro d’Italia stages 19, 20 & 21 preview
Stage 19 (today) is probably the most brutal of them all, a 183km route so erratic you won’t believe it. With five categorized climbs and over 5,000 vertical meters, when you’re not climbing, you’re descending to the bottom of the next one. The summit finish of Tre Cime di Lavaredo is the highest point of the race and so steep it is almost vertical.
Stage 20 (Saturday) is an 18.6km time trial. Sounds simple enough, but it isn’t. Another summit finish, this time at Monte Lussari, has an average gradient of 12.3 percent, with the first 5km of the ascent averaging over 15 percent.
Stage 21 (Sunday) offers some much-needed relief, with the 126km circuit passing some of Rome’s most famous landmarks before finishing on Via dei Fori Imperiali, as flat as a slice of pizza al taglio. It is here that the leader is attacked and clings to the maglia rosa for his life.
It’s show time. Check out the full details of the Giro d’Italia 2023 live stream on our main page or use the information below to find out how to tune in.
