Former Australia Test captain Ricky Ponting has reportedly been taken to a hospital in Perth during the first Test between Australia and the West Indies.
According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, Ponting’s colleagues have stated that he is stable but have been taken to hospital due to precautionary checks as he was feeling unwell.
However, he had to be rushed to a hospital in Perth around lunchtime on day three of the first test and was therefore unable to comment during the next session.
“Ricky Ponting is unwell and will not be commenting for the remainder of today’s coverage,” a Channel 7 spokesman told Fox Sports.
