Lionel Messi will return to Paris St Germain in early January, Ligue 1 club manager Christophe Galtier said on Tuesday.
The Argentine striker, a seven-time Ballon D’Or winner, scored two goals nine days ago and led his country to victory over France on penalties in the World Cup final nine days ago. Messi, 35, will miss PSG’s home game against Strasbourg on Wednesday and the trip to Lens on Sunday.
PSG top the standings with 41 points after 15 games, five above second-placed Lens.
