India vs Bangladesh, 2nd ODI tip XI: Axar Patel and Umran Malik replace Shabaz Ahmed and Kuldeep Sen

After losing a nerve-wracking game against Bangladesh in the first of the three match ODI series. Rohit and his men will look at the batting options available to him.

Axar Patel will replace Shabaz Ahmed to add more experience in the clutch moments and Kuldeep Sen will be replaced by another young fast Umran Malik to add.

With Rishabh Pant out of the series due to injury, Sanju Samson has been added to the roster. KL Rahul has kept wickets in the first game so it is unlikely there will be any changes in that department.

Shreyas’ short ball problems.

Iyer’s short ball goes through. On Sunday, he was out again for short ball when Ebadot continued to bowl a range from short ball, pressuring Iyer. The right-hander eventually succumbed to the pressure.

However, Iyer was the most in form ODI batsman for India in 2022. He scored 639 runs at an average of 58.33 this year. He also looks like a solid middle class alongside Virat Kohli and Rahul.

Opening combination

India needs to get off to a good solid fast start. Apart from the opening stand against New Zealand in Auckland, Indian openings have been below par in the ODIs this year.

Shikar Dhawan’s pass rate shows a drop in studies in ODIs. He scores 75 in 20 ODIs this year with a mediocre average of 38. Skipper Rohit Sharma has been in poor form for quite some time.

This makes India vulnerable at the top. India needs to find a combination that can work for the World Cup.
