The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is back to its lowest price at just £39 on Amazon, John Lewis And Argos. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max, which usually retails for £65, is Amazon’s premium streaming stick before moving on to the Fire TV Cube. This red-hot deal was available at the beginning of the month, but was quickly terminated after just a few days; fortunately you can now pick up this streamer again for this attractive price.
We gave the Fire TV Stick 4K Max four stars in our review back in March, praising its detailed picture and wide HDR format compatibility, even calling it a great value media streamer at its original price of £65.
Now at 40 per cent off the asking price, the Fire TV Stick looks like an even better deal, especially when its current Chromecast rival is now more expensive – but that too is currently on sale for just £45 from John Lewis and Argos. Gooogle’s award-winning Chromecast with Google TV earned itself five stars in our review thanks to its natural picture and sound – it’s more expensive than the Fire TV Stick, though, so choose wisely.
Our advice? The Chromecast has the better picture and sound, so if that’s all that matters, go for Google. However, if you’ve already invested in Amazon services like Amazon Echo, or maybe you have an existing Prime Video library, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max might be a better choice.
Whichever you choose, these streamers let you stream your favorite movies and TV shows in 4K HDR on Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and more, as well as music from Spotify and Tidal. Both have remotes and voice control via Alexa for the Amazon Stick and Google Assistant for the Chromecast, and all you need to connect them is a TV with an HDMI connector and a nearby power outlet for power – simple!
