Argentinian fans start petition ‘France stop crying; more than 350,000 have signed

Argentine supporters hit back at French football fans in their unique style, launching their own “France stop crying” petition.

This comes after a MesOpinions user demanded France v Argentina’s FIFA replay for unfairly awarding the Argentina penalty and adding a foul to French star Kylian Mbappé leading up to Di Maria’s goal.

Over 2 lakhs of dissatisfied Les Blues supporters signed the petition asking for the replay in which Argentina won the final 4-2 on penalties against France.

According to a report from the Goal, the “France stop crying” petition was launched by a fan named Valentin Gomez.

Within hours, the change.org petition had more than 350,000 signatures.

“Since we won the World Cup final, the French have not stopped crying, complaining and not accepting that Argentina are world champions,” Gomez wrote.

“This petition aims for the French to stop crying and accept that Messi is the best player in history and has Mbappe as his son,” he added.

Argentina’s dramatic victory over France in penalties in the World Cup final was the second most-watched football match of any kind in the United States.

Initial figures from Nielsen, Fox and Telemundo show that Sunday’s game had an English and Spanish combined audience of 25,783,000.
